Chuba Hubbard Makes History, Hits 1,000 Rushing Yards for First Time in His Career
Chuba is just the second Canadian to rush for 1,000 yards in an NFL season.
Things haven’t gone the Carolina Panthers’ way for much of this season, but they do have Chuba Hubbard.
Hubbard and the 3-11 Panthers came up short in their comeback attempt against the NFC East leading Philadelphia Eagles. But at least Chuba made some history. The former Oklahoma State All-American carried the ball 26 times for 92 yards and a score, crossing the 1,000-yard mark for the season in just 13 games. He’s the first former Cowboy to do so in five years.

Hubbard came in ranked sixth in the NFL in rushing yards. He’s also in the Top 10 in rushing attempts, touches, yards per carry and yards per game. He’s now sitting at 1,011 rushing yards and eight touchdowns. He also has 189 receiving yards and a score.
This makes Hubbard the first former OSU running back to hit 1,000 yards in a season since Chris Carson in 2019. Carson had consecutive seasons of 1,151 yards and 1,230 for the Seattle Seahawks in 2018 and 2019 before injuries caught up with him. Hubbard is also just the second Canadian to reach the 1,000-yard mark and the first since Reuben Mayes in 1986.
Carolina signed Hubbard to a four-year $33.2 million extension on Nov. 7. The Panthers will host the Dallas Cowboys next Sunday at noon.
