Cowboys Remain in Joe Lunardi’s Bracket after Loss to West Virginia
Lunardi has the Pokes playing Duke in the First Round.
It’s snug, but the Cowboys are still in Joe Lunardi’s most recent bracket following back-to-back blowout losses.
Lunardi has Oklahoma State as a No. 11 seed in his bracket heading into Tuesday’s games. The Cowboys are two spots from the “Last Four In” and a trip to Dayton to start the NCAA Tournament. They are also a spot ahead of West Virginia.
Lunardi projects eight Big 12 teams to make the NCAA Tournament and has Texas Tech in his “Next Four Out” category. Here are seeds of each Big 12 team in his latest projection:
1 — Kansas
2 — Baylor, Texas
3 — Iowa State, Kansas State
6 — TCU
11 — Oklahoma State
12 — West Virginia
Lunardi has the Pokes in the East Regional, where they’d play 6-seed Duke in the First Round, a fun matchup. Baylor and West Virginia are also in the East. The top seed in the region is Purdue.
The Cowboys have three regular season games left to boost their resume: vs. Kansas State, vs. Baylor and at Texas Tech. Then OSU is off to Kansas City for the Big 12 Tournament, which starts March 8. If the Big 12 Tournament started now, OSU would be the 7 seed, playing 10-seed Oklahoma in the First Round. If OSU could climb any higher in the conference standings, they would skip the First Round altogether in Kansas City.
