Cowgirl Hoops: 6-foot-7 European Center Mojca Jelenc Signs with Oklahoma State
Hoyt lands another.
This Cowgirl roster was already set to be one of the longest of Jacie Hoyt’s tenure, but Oklahoma State made another addition to further solidify that fact Monday.
Oklahoma State announced the signing of Slovenian center Mojca Jelenc (pronounced Moyt-sah YEH-links). She’s a 6-foot-7 and 23 years old and joins the Cowgirls after climbing the ranks in Europe.
Jelenc played in the Hungary-A Division this past season with UNI Gyor, where she averaged 11.3 points and six rebounds across 26 games. She shot 48% from the field and 39% from 3.
“We are very excited to announce another great talent to our roster,” Hoyt said in OSU’s release. “Mojca adds instant size and length that will serve as a great paint presence defensively. Offensively, she is a rare talent because, despite her height and size, she has guard-like skills. She is very comfortable shooting the three, which is unique for her position.”
“She has played at the highest level – against former stars from the US and current WNBA players. Her experience against and with that caliber of talent is going to be a huge asset for our team.”
Jelenc began her career with Cinjarna Celje in the Slovenia league. She spent four years with that club and averaged double figures in three of those seasons. She averaged 16.2 point, 7.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists a game during the 2023-24 season.
She’s also been a regular in the Slovenia national team’s system. She helped her country qualify for the FIBA EuroBasket Championships, making her senior debut in the 2023 FIBA Women’s EuroBasket qualifiers where she averaged 9.2 points and five boards a game. She played in three games at the 2025 FIBA Women’s EuroBasket Championship, averaging 3.4 points and a pair of rebounds a game.
Jelenc regularly appeared in youth national teams, as well. Across 21 games with Slovenian youth national teams, she averaged 7.8 points and 5.6 rebounds a game.
Jelenc joins as stacked a roster as the Cowgirls have perhaps ever had, as Hoyt has brought in the likes of Audi Crooks and Liv McGill. The Cowgirls also bring back Stailee Heard for her senior season.
