Cowgirl Hoops: Oklahoma State Adds Nebraska Transfer Guard Callin Hake

Jacie Hoyt wasn’t quite done adding to her fantastic transfer portal haul.

The program announced Wednesday that Nebraska transfer Callin Hake signed. Hake was part of a group of players who received a temporary court order to get a fifth year of eligibility.

“With the state of our roster being as solid as it was, it was important to make sure that if we were going to add anyone, they had elite character and a team-first mentality — Callin is all that and more,” Hoyt said via OSU’s release. “She’s a great fit for what we’re building within our program. She’s exactly the kind of player we’re looking for in our system because of her ability to make 3s and stretch the floor. We are most excited about her defensive presence and the energy she’ll bring to our team.”

Hake played in 131 games across four seasons with the Cornhuskers, starting 62 of the 65 games she has played in the past two seasons. Listed at 5-foot-8, she averaged 7.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.3 steals a game as a senior last season while shooting 35% from 3 on four attempts a game.

She hails from Victoria, Minnesota and averaged 22.2 points a game as a senior at Chanhassen High School. She was her high school’s first 2,000-point scorer and was named her team’s MVP four times.

Hake was also active off the court in Lincoln. She was the recipient Nebraska’s Heart & Soul Award for her contributions to the Lincoln community during her four years. She was the president of Nebraska’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and was part of the Big Ten Student-Athlete Issues Commission.

She joins an absolutely loaded roster Hoyt has put together. Starting the offseason with only Stailee Heard, the Cowgirls have added the likes of Iowa State All-American Audi Crooks, All-SEC guard Liv McGill, Division-II National Player of the Year Talexa Weeter and more.
