Tiger on a Monday afternoon for his 75th W? Yes, please.

This is awesome, people responded to Berry’s column from last week. I read all of them. The first one is pretty sobering (from a sports standpoint). (NewsOK)

Derek Hatridge doing work here on the RT10 anniversary. Great read. (O’Colly)

Great photo here from the game on Saturday. Really cool. (NewsOK)

I bet we don’t end up at 6th in the conference power rankings. (ESPN)

Pretty interesting quote from Deniz Kilicli Pittsnogle on Forte: It’s the only thing he can do, is get the ball and shoot it. He’s not going to create anything dribbling the ball. He’s not going to play pick and rolls or anything. He’s just going to come shoot the ball. Strong notion from someone who hasn’t uttered a polysyllabic word in his lifetime. (NewsOK)

Q&A with Brian Williams about his pending return. (Tulsa World)

So if I’m reading this correctly, Seth Greenberg doesn’t think we’re underachieving, he just thinks we suck. (NewsOK)

Forte on his jersey switch: Thirteen worked well today. I’m going to stay with that number. I understand the circumstance. It’s out of my control, and there’s nothing I could do about it and it’s for a good reason. (O’Colly)

I’ll keep saying it until someone starts listening, maybe Le’Bryan Nash just isn’t that good. (NewsOK)

Good stuff here on Christien Sager, rebound like Sager is the new mantra. (Tulsa World)

Weird, I forgot Self replaced Kruger then was replaced by Weber at Illinois. (Big 12 Sports)

Forte looks like Ford’s son here. (NewsOK)

Gundy’s staff is getting much younger, interesting point by Berry. (NewsOK)

More goodness from Berry in his chat here. I like the “where does Gundy rank as a coach” question. (NewsOK)

The Big 12 is looking to “partner” with the ACC…whatever that means. (CBS Sports)

If you’ve lost count of the new OSU assistants, here’s a handy guide. (NewsOK)

Well we DO have a good architecture school. (Scout)

Justin Gilbert is about to hold all the records. (NewsOK)

Interesting, a receiver recruit trying to follow in the footsteps of his high school coach at OSU. (Tulsa World)

Quinn Sharp is trying to prove he’s draft-worthy. This should not be a difficult thing. (NewsOK)

Joe Randle makes the Big 12’s all-interview team. No surprise here. (ESPN)

I look at it as a heck of a deal is probably the most Gundy quote of all-time. (NewsOK)

Wait, Billy Bajema’s nickname is “Crazy Bill”? (NewsOK)

Drew Allen transferring?? Whoa! (CBS Sports)

Cowboy wrestling annihilates Arizona State. (O’Colly)

Men’s tennis! (okstate)

Uni news: To have Dean Smith call you and ask for new uniforms for the Tar Heels was like having God ask for new halos for the archangels. (Yahoo)

Gottlieb was taking questions last night, I asked him if he’d ever consider coaching OSU but he didn’t answer. He answered this question instead.

Highlights of the WVU game here.

This is so awesome and hilarious.

  • It’s almost comical how WVU attempts to make shooting seem like an inferior skill in the post game interview. Kilicli’s comments remind me of something my high school coach used to say: “Shooting makes up for a multitude of sins.”

Also, the Matt Damon bit was hysterical. KP, you should post the Blow Up from the show back in ’06 or ’07.

  • In reference to Tramel considering if Shaw was a better coach than Gundy… It was only one game, but I think Shaw got outcoached by Gundy in the Fiesta Bowl. Gundy relied on his Biletnikoff (sp?) winner, Shaw relied on a freshman kicker instead of his #1 draft pick.

I think you’re wrong about LeBryan. I don’t see how you can watch the way he scores on the games he goes off and not see the large amount of talent he has. Now if you’re saying he’s not that good because he hasn’t figured it out yet, I can see where you’re coming from. But to me he’s clearly a really good player that is still adjusting to the game.

I guess I’ll keep saying it until someone starts listening, but maybe Kyle doesn’t understand hoops.

I would venture to say that Forte did more than just “shoot” against WVU. He put the ball in the basket several times. He also played good defense and do a great job moving without the ball. In our offense, he isn’t asked to be a distributor. My guess is Huggins said something to that effect to his players and they are echoing his statement. Either that or they are having a tough time dealing with getting torched by a 5 foot nothing dude that none of them could guard.

I don’t see how we are better than 6th in the conference. Our offense and its dependency on the three ball does not bode well when our percentages aren’t that great. Perhaps Forte is the key to this team because of that dependency. Of course, that won’t get you better than 6th in the conference, and Forte goes cold in some games. His shooting in our road losses was pretty damn bad.

This is why Ford needs to go. We have so much talent on this team, and the system is built around low percentage bball. All of the back screens etc are meant to free up jumpshots. Otherwise, it is one on one with everybody else watching.

I’ll reserve my judgement on our ranking in the Big XII until we get Baylor and KState at home. I think we could win those, especially once Williams is back. We have room to improve and be a tough tourney team. If we lose to Tech, TCU, or WV on the road though… then we don’t even deserve an NCAA bid. The Big XII is that bad this year.
