OSU Bullets
• Mike Gundy and Co. chatted with the media yesterday (five top quotes here) – QB race update: too early to call (PFB)
• Program mainstay Zack Esposito is leaving Cowboy Wrestling for USA Wrestling (PFB)
• Here’s the ideal endpoint in the world of super conferences for Oklahoma State – even more games against these quality conference mates. An even more fun idea? A four-team Big 12 playoff.
But playing more conference games is a swell idea. Mike Gundy politicked for an 11-game conference schedule, back when the Big 12 was 12 teams.
A great schedule would be all these leagues playing 11-game schedules, with the non-conference game a marquee opponent. That would be college football at its best.
• OSU is running much more three-man front this year and the noseguard spot appears to be stocked just fine.
[GoPokes](Justin) Kirkland has the makings of an All-Big 12 season. He’s huge, fast and competitive. Clay is someone who has grown a lot this offseason, Gundy said. “Collin (Clay) is a guy that’s developed his body,” Gundy said.
• At nearly 40 minutes in, Brett Yormark goes on this podcast and talks about his experience as Big 12 commissioner (Apple Podcasts)
• Mike Gundy on the marching band’s importance:
Non-OSU Bullets
• Sparing Gonzaga and UConn was a good move for all
• How to do great work
