Oklahoma State is likely headed to the Camping World Bowl where it will likely face Notre Dame. Here for the opponent, not for the Camping World gear.

10-Win Season

They don’t grow on trees, even though this one will be a bitter one if it happens. What could have been et al. When OSU straps it on for the bowl game in late December, it will go for its 30th win in the last three years.

It’s a chance for a 10-win season. More specifically, a third consecutive 10-win season, something that has never been accomplished at Oklahoma State.

“That’s the goal. We want to go out with a win,” said senior linebacker Chad Whitener, who transferred from Cal after his freshman season. “I would like to go out with another 10-win season; 30 wins in my three years here as a player would be great. [NewsOK]

On the Playoff

Bob Bowlsby weighs in with a fascinating point on how the CFB Playoffs could be decided between any teams (notably right now: Alabama and Ohio State).

I was in that room, or a similar room, when I was on the basketball committee. You’ve mentioned the coaches. We would get to the point where you just couldn’t slide a piece of paper between the two teams. And often times you’d look across the room at a coach and say, “Who would you least like to play?” That may be how you decide it.

Nobody is there to be an advocate. Regardless of where they come from, they are very careful to say you check your hat at the door and you’re here for your expertise. Not where you come from and who you represent. I believe that they live by that. [NewsOK]

Dillard on Being Back

No. 24 is two games into the season and says he learned a lot from his last suspension. Whether that’s true or not (it doesn’t seem to have been before) remains to be seen.

Dillard, who figures to be a key reserve at forward and guard, along with sophomores Cameron McGriff and Lindy Waters and junior Tavarius Shine, said he was humbled by this latest experience.

“You just have to realize that anything can happen at any given time,” Dillard said. “You want to be grateful in the game of basketball because you never know. It could be gone like that. I learned just to be humble with the process.” [Tulsa World]

Oklahoma State gets Mississippi Valley State this afternoon.

OSU and NCAA Notes

Clay knows how to argue (obviously), but I think Ohio State should probably get the final spot … Gus “wants to be” at Auburn (?) … Why Gus should go to Arkansas … JoJo picked Ohio State as the No. 4 seed.

Denton Dime Dropper. Would love to hear the convos on this flight.

Goodness, this is good.

Omg!

Props to John. He’s always been kind to all of our writers and a total pro. Wish him the best in the future.

OU (again) … hate it

I’m dead.
