Berry on Baker

…(T)here is honor and prestige in being asked to lead a team. Mayfield failed that mission. There is dishonor in being demoted back to buck private. That’s a message that would resonate. Every Saturday, when a group of Sooners walk to midfield to represent their team and their school and in some ways their state, all in attendance would be reminded that there’s more to life than being a great athlete.

If Stoops wants a punishment that will linger with Mayfield and other Sooners alike, removing Mayfield from his captain rank would do the trick much more than running steps above Owen Field or sitting out a quarterback against a team from El Paso.

Disciplining a high grossing university employee an amateur athlete is a tricky situation. Teaching a lesson and selling tickets most generally seem mutually exclusive but I like Berry’s idea. We all know Baker will play but being held accountable publicly for such a public crime seems fitting.

Could OSU get this Cal transfer?

(Aaron) Cochran was an integral part of an offensive line that paved the way for a nationally ranked offense and numerous school records the past two seasons. In 2015, Cal set the single-season program marks for passing yardage (4,892), passing touchdowns (44), total offense (6,879) and total touchdowns (63).

No word on which other schools that Cochran is considering. There have been internet message board posts linking him to Michigan and Michigan State. Oklahoma State is the only official visit we know of at this time. [Scout-$]

Sign me up for the guy who kept Jared Goff and Davis Webb upright in that bear-raid offense – what Mason will do to Big 12 defenses with plenty of time will be NSFW.

Pokes locked into the 4 or 5 seed next Thursday.

West Virginia, Baylor and Iowa State will shake out somehow two to four and while it’s not a solid match up, I’d like another shot at the Bears.

Spot on Tulsa. Also, I hear the Walk-On of the Year award is given out in Fayetteville, maybe Baker can get some community service in on his trip.

The Cowgirls getting after it this Friday in OKC after a tough loss in Ames.

Congrats to former Cowboy wideout turned CFL star Adarius Bowman on his engagement.
