Cowgirls Beaten In Bedlam
OSU fell 66-60, giving OU its third Bedlam sweep in four years, as another Cowgirl comeback bid fell short.
Two OSU starters finished with double-doubles — Kaylee Jensen (17 points, 15 rebounds) and Mandy Coleman (19 points, 11 rebounds) — but the Cowgirls (13-9, 3-8 Big 12) were plagued by a slow start. The Sooners (18-6, 9-3) sprinted to a 7-0 first-quarter lead, and even as OSU fought back, it was the mental errors that resonated with coach Jim Littell. [NewsOK]
Bummer here, as it seems OSU’s basketball programs have gone in different directions this season. Littell’s squad is now 3-8 on the year.
Hit the Boards, Pokes
OSU out-rebounded West Virginia 30-16. West Virginia only had 16 rebounds!
“I’ve never had a team in 35 years get out-rebounded 30-16, never,” said WVU coach Bob Huggins, “and that’s playing everybody that’s any good in college basketball.” [NewsOK]
In the last seven years, WVU has only grabbed fewer than 20 rebounds in a game twice. They had 19 against OU in 2013. Then they had 16 against OSU yesterday. Also, there’s this.
The last time OSU played consecutive conference games on the road, won both, & beat a ranked team in the process? 1954!!! #okstate

New National Signing Day
Cody Stavenhagen on what the future of National Signing Day is going to look like (probably a lot different).
Theoretically, if players can make official decisions a month earlier, it would thin out the stress that can come for schools in January. Of course, the December signing date is not mandatory, so players still could wait until February to make their decisions.
“I think this is meant to be a combination of benefit for student-athletes who make the choice, and certainly for the institution that has to continue to fly around and see the commitments just to make sure they’re still staying committed,” OU athletic director Joe Castiglione said. [Tulsa World]
OSU fans should be in favor of moving signing day to December or earlier so teams like A&M and Texas can’t swoop in and steal the guys Gundy has targeted. Moving this date up will only benefit the Cowboys.

Well this stinks.
WOW! @BonniesMBB drills a three with .4 left. The fans storm the court, a technical foul is called. Now we're in OT. https://t.co/rQy1tTc835
