Even though COVID issues put a damper on Saturday’s Bedlam hoops matchup, there was still plenty going on with current and former Cowboys and Cowgirls this weekend.

OSU Bullets

• The AFC Divisional round saw a couple more OSU alums’ seasons end. Dez Bryant and Justice Hill saw the field during their Ravens’ 17-3 loss to the Bills, but combined for two targets, no catches and no carries.

Here’s the play that turned the tide. Baltimore was threatening to even things up in the red zone when Lamar Jackson throw a 101-yard pick six.

Unfortunately, Justice wasn’t quite swift enough, though he was the closest Raven to saving the score.

But one former Cowboys was happy.

• Former OSU DT Vincent Taylor will be in action tomorrow when his Browns head to Kansas City to face off against the Chiefs at 2:05 p.m.

• Sticking with the NFL, the Steelers parted ways with Ben Roethlisberger’s hand-picked OC Randy Fichtner. So what does that mean for the future of Pittsburgh’s QB1 spot?

If the Steelers truly believe in Mason Rudolph, they will part ways with Ben Roethlisberger and hand him the reins.

It’s the perfect time — the obvious time, really — but only if the Steelers believe in Rudolph and that first-round grade they put on him three years ago. They traded up to draft him 76th overall, you’ll recall.

• The Cowgirls dropped consecutive games for the first time this year, falling 67-59 to West Virginia.

But Natasha Mack did extend her streak for six-straight double-doubles with 15 points and 12 rebounds to go along with her two blocks and a steal.

A reminder that the Big 12 is murderer’s row in women’s hoops as well.

• But it wasn’t a bad day all around for OSU fans.

The Oklahoman‘s Scott Wright looked at the Cowboys’ Top 5 draft prospects and Chuba Hubbard might be the most intriguing — which is not something I thought anyone would say before the season.

• In wrestling, the Cowboys are in Little Rock this afternoon for two duals. Here’s what John Smith had to say. The Cowboys square off against SIU-Edwardsville at 12:55 p.m. and then against Little Rock at 4 p.m.

Non-OSU Bullets

• This is a great memory shared by my personal favorite play-by-play specialist.
