Daily Bullets (Jan. 6): Go Pokes, Beat the Bears

Today at 2pm, OSU takes on a top-25 Baylor squad – all the info here

Wrestling: OSU 22, NC State 12

Three Thoughts

Kendall Daniels announced he’s coming back yesterday, OSU added a defensive end in the portal, and a tight end the day before – really feels like the pieces are falling into place (PFB)

• A couple of Cowboy Football position coaches won the award for coach of the year from a third party – John Wozniak and Joe Bob Clements (X)

• Midweek MACtion games got a little bit more appealing – Gunnar Gundy is headed to Ohio and he’s coming at the right time:

Gundy goes to Ohio at an opportune time, as four-year starter Kurtis Rourke entered the transfer portal after this season, making a move to Indiana. Rourke threw for 7,651 yards, 50 touchdowns and 16 interceptions in his four seasons running the show for the Bobcats.

Two Quotes

• Massive win for the Pokes at NC State last night – a great sign for the wrestling team getting off on the right foot.

The Cowboys went to Raleigh and upset No. 4 NC State 22-12 while winning seven of 10 matches. It was OSU’s first win over a top-5 team since beating No. 3 Iowa 27-13 on Feb. 24, 2019, in Gallagher-Iba Arena. The Cowboys were actually the favorites in that dual, ranked second, compared to entering Friday night’s bout at No. 9.

Solid point here on OSU’s quarterback depth – that’ll be something to watch in the spring window:

(Mike) Gundy is lucky (Garrett) Rangel hasn’t already jumped into the portal. Keep an eye on the next open transfer window — April 16-30 — depending on Rangel’s opportunities/progression during spring football. [Mailchimp]
One Question

OSU offered another 2024 quarterback for the class – is a quarterback about to be headed out the door?
