Good morning. I’m still intoxicated on Bedlam, and we still have a big week full of exciting announcements ahead of us.

Best Shooter In The Country?

Jawun Evans says yes.

“I knew when I kicked it out, it was good,” Evans said. “The best shooter in college basketball, I think. No other choice.” No other choice, really, either, for a candidate to hit the game-winner over the Sooners.

“It’s only fitting,” said Cowboys coach Brad Underwood. “I talk too much about Phil and what he means to me, what he has meant to Oklahoma State, his commitment. Not only getting the 3-point record Saturday, but his work and his passion. [NewsOK]

It was certainly a pure look.

The End of NSD?

Jenni Carlson writes that this year’s NSD (tomorrow, by the way) might be the last of its kind before going extinct.

When the NCAA’s Division I council convenes in April, it is likely to approve a far-ranging package of recruiting reforms. Prime among them is the addition of an early signing day. It wouldn’t replace the signing day that already exists on the first Wednesday of February; it would add another, earlier signing period in mid-December.

Signing Day as we know it will never be the same. Not that it’s all bad. [NewsOK]

I’m fine with that.

Looking ahead to next year

CRFF continues to do a terrific job with their interviews. This one is with Fua Leilua.

MA: What drew you to Oklahoma State? What made you decide to commit to Oklahoma State?

FL: It was just the atmosphere, the coaches the people, the players. Every thing just seemed right about that. Dominant Big 12 team, they played really well this year. Came up short of the big one but we’ll definitely have a shot at that next year.” [CRFF]

Lindy Comes Home

Lindy Waters was outstanding in less than 20 minutes against his hometown Sooners.

Underwood said the Cowboys missed Waters’ hustle when he was out three games, but is happy the freshman is starting to regain it.

“You don’t just bounce back from (a concussion), jump right back into the fray and start diving on the floor for loose balls and throwing yourself out there,” Underwood said. “You’re a little cautious. The last week, he has been tremendous. You saw tonight how good of a player Lindy Waters is going to be for many years at Oklahoma State.” [O’Colly]

I think he has the prettiest shot on the team right now.

OSU and NCAA Notes

OSU was a 11 seed in the latest Bracketology … Great gamer from Mark Cooper per the usual … Where are the top 100 NCAA recruits 10 years later? … Jordy Mercer was recently inducted into the OSU Baseball HOF.

Take it all!

What You Missed On PFB
