Daily Bullets (July 15): Questions for Big 12 Media Days
Mike Gundy won’t name a starting QB at Big 12 Media Days like he did last year … but that’s not going to keep me from trying to read between all the lines and parse his language like it’s an ancient hieroglyphic sent specifically for me to solve.

• B12 coach contracts
• Jawun Evans interview
• Media Days questions
OSU Bullets
• The Oklahoman broke down a variety of Big 12 coaches’ contracts here. My question is whether we think Mike Gundy has ever played 18 consecutive holes at Karsten Creek.
University shall pay all fees and dues for Gundy’s membership at Karsten Creek Golf Club in which membership is required for the “conduct of development activities and entertainment” associated with Gundy’s official responsibilities. All personal charges not related to university-associated activities shall be paid by Gundy. [NewsOK]
• Fun little one on one with Jawun Evans here.
Now he is back in familiar territory, playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA Summer League.
“There’s been a lot of love shown since I’ve been back in Oklahoma,” Evans said. “Oklahoma is like another home for me because of going to school there…I’m happy to be back.” [Tulsa World]
We’ll hopefully take a deeper dive into this at some point, but I’m curious about how likely it is that he could sneak onto a now-depleted Thunder roster.
• OSU commit Jeff Roberson’s high school coach at Choctaw is going to make Mike Gundy fall in love all over again with this quote.
“For a high school kid playing football in 2019, I don’t think there’s ever been more pressure on a kid,” Corbin said. “You know the second someone else got an offer, the second someone else commits.
“It’s refreshing to me to have a kid that just enjoys the game, and we have a lot of kids like that on our team. Jeff loves the game. He’s not caught up in being recruited. He’s not in love with how many retweets he gets and all that stuff. He loves playing football.” [NewsOK]
• Big 12 questions abound when the festivities get underway later this morning. Berry has 10 of them, and here’s the most OSU-centric one.
Will Mike Gundy give us any clue about the OSU quarterback race? Gundy famously dropped the news last year during Media Days that Taylor Cornelius was the unquestioned starter, and Gundy never backed off that endorsement. Now another season has arrived, and we go to Arlington believing Spencer Sanders probably will be the starter over Dru Brown, but we’re not for sure. [NewsOK]
• Marshall, Kyle Boone and I taped a podcast on Sunday in the shed discussing Big 12 Media Days and Cade Cunningham.
• A bunch of OSU offers (from OK) won Peach Jam over the weekend.
• Seth with an update on which OSU guys are thriving in Fargo.
