Daily Bullets (June 24): Portal Add for Cowgirls, Ranking 2011 Squad Among Non-Title Teams
Thanks for stopping by – here’s your daily dose of Oklahoma State sports news.
OSU Bullets
• Cowgirl Softball added a verrrrry experienced infielder in the transfer portal yesterday (PFB)
• 2011 Cowboys named the No. 11 best team since 2010 that didn’t win a national title (247 Sports)
• Wild statistic – if you just tracked Ollie Gordon’s yards after contact (1,056), he would have been the 40th leading rusher in college football last year.
Some detractors, or those that tend to devalue running backs in the modern game, may point to scheme or Oklahoma State’s veteran offensive line as the main catalysts behind Gordon’s production. While those factors surely played a role, 1,056 of Gordon’s 1,732 yards rushing came after contact. He was tough to bring down with a head of steam and often required multiple defenders to finally drag him to the ground. [CBS Sports]
• Fun concept – looking at an all-John Smith era wrestling lineup (PFB)
• What a shot, Rick.
