For perspective, all 14 schools in the soon-to-be new Big 12 had at least one transfer departure during the spring window. Baylor and Oklahoma State had the fewest with one each, while TCU had the most with nine scholarship losses. The average number of total transfer portal departures among the 14 conference programs since the beginning of August is approximately 18.

So, the shear number of losses for Oklahoma State — which amounted to 17 at the end of the two transfer windows — is nothing out of the ordinary. However, the level of talent and production the Cowboys lost is still concerning.
