• Excellent context here framing Cowboy Football’s portal losses between the winter and spring windows:

For perspective, all 14 schools in the soon-to-be new Big 12 had at least one transfer departure during the spring window. Baylor and Oklahoma State had the fewest with one each, while TCU had the most with nine scholarship losses. The average number of total transfer portal departures among the 14 conference programs since the beginning of August is approximately 18.

So, the shear number of losses for Oklahoma State — which amounted to 17 at the end of the two transfer windows — is nothing out of the ordinary. However, the level of talent and production the Cowboys lost is still concerning.

Too busy for beauty (faith-based)

“…While I know, there are those who would totally disagree and say, ‘If I could just be a millionaire, that would be the most wonderful thing. If I could just not have to work every day … If I could be out fishing or hunting or playing golf or traveling, that would be the most wonderful life in the world.’

They don’t know life. Because what makes life mean something is purpose. A goal. The battle. The struggle. Even if you don’t win it.”
