Daily Bullets (May 23): Cowboys Face Questions as Baseball Season Ends and Football Rebuilds
Thanks for stopping by – here’s your daily dose of Oklahoma State sports news.
OSU Bullets
• Tough loss for the Pokes last night – Kansas edged out the Cowboys in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 baseball tournament (X)
• New Cowboy guard Anthony Roy made this list of impact Big 12 transfers – we’ll see what Steve Lutz can do with this talented player (HCS)
• A bunch of sportswriters rated college football coaches – their assessment (collectively) of Mike Gundy describes the situation in Stillwater well:
There were a wide range of votes cast for Gundy this year, and I suppose it depends on how you view things. You can’t dismiss everything Gundy has accomplished during his time in Stillwater, but you also have to question if he’s the right man for Oklahoma State today. The sport is evolving, and Gundy has shown some stubbornness in evolving alongside it. Was last year’s 3-9 mark a one-off or the beginning of the end? 2024 rank: 15th (-19), High: 16, Low: 51 [CBS Sports]
It feels like the rest of the sports world is assessing what Cowboy fans have been looking at over the last six months – watching necessary action take place after a significant outlier took place.
