OSU Bullets

• OU’s players and coaches talked about Chuba like he’s Walter Payton on Saturday (maybe he is).

No, this one’s on the OU D. And the OU D must focus on Hubbard.

“He’s going to be put in a lot of situations where he has to make plays. We’re gonna try to limit that,” Radley-Hiles said. “We’re gonna try to take every opportunity away from him. “But he’s a great player. Lot of respect for him.” [Tulsa World]

Good post there to get your juices flowing for Bedlam week.

• Good Berry column here on DB.

“Dru stepped up,” said Hubbard, who had almost as many receiving yards (88, on seven catches) as rushing yards (106). “This was his moment. I’m so happy he did great. I’m glad everyone got to see how talented he is also … he’s a great human being and a great football player. So I’m glad he got to showcase it.”

The Cowboys have raved about Brown since he arrived in Stillwater 18 months ago. Few graduate transfers are content to ride the bench, but Brown made friends instead of waves, and Saturday, he made some memories. [NewsOK]

People talk about DB like he should run for mayor of Stillwater. It’s amazing. I don’t know that I’ve ever heard a backup QB talked about like he’s been talked about this year.

• Cox on Chuba’s underrated WVU game was great.

With just one game remaining in his regular sophomore season and, quite possibly his college career, Chuba has a chance to climb up among the greatest college running backs of all time. At 1,832 rushing yards, if he recorded his average over the next two games, Chuba would finish in the top 10 in rushing in FBS history. And I think he just might show out for Bedlam.

I don’t expect Chuba to earn the second Heisman trophy in Oklahoma State history this season, but he’s earned it. And he did nothing but strengthen that case on Saturday. [PFB]

When you notch 68 percent of a team’s offense and that team is now 8-3 going into its final game, that’s a meaningful November statement.

• Boone on six is also good.

And if confidence and cockiness count for anything, there’s no doubt OSU’s own No. 6 has enough of an edge to give the Cowboys — without their top receiver and top quarterback — a fighting chance to do what OSU has only done twice since Mike Gundy took over as its head coach: Beat OU. [PFB]

Brown needed to get one under his belt pre-Bedlam, and it needed to be a win. Now he can let it ride next weekend, and whatever happens, happens. I’m with Boone, I think he has the proper swagger to take on Jalen Hurts and the Sooners.

The Rundown here from Gundy is magnificent.

• Dave Hunziker and John Holcomb rode with Gundy in his chartered plane to the WVU game on Friday night.

• OU and Baylor clinched their spots in the B12 title game, even though OU tried to give it up for three consecutive weeks (maybe most of all against TCU last night). Also: here’s video of the lol spot OU got to end it.

• I did not know Tim Biakabutuka was Canadian!

• Stinks! Inequitable scheduling!
