Oklahoma State’s football team played its final home game of the year just hours before its men’s basketball team held its home opener. Both came out on top.

OSU Bullets

• I laid out my 10 Thoughts about the Pokes’ win over Texas Tech if you’d like to check them out.

• So Dezmon Jackson set himself a goal of three TDs and 185 yards this week. ?

• Dez recognize Dez.

You can’t change that number now, right? I know it was a transitional moniker for backups in the past but make it your own. (Just my .02.)

• Speaking of Dez, two weeks after being elevated from Baltimore’s practice squad, Bryant officially signed with the Ravens — and he did it in style.

• OSU Hoops opened up GIA the right way with a 20-point win over Texas Southern. Marshall Scott was on-hand to cover it as well as anyone.

• The Cowboys housed Texas Southern in its home opener with Cade Cunningham quietly scoring 20 in his first two games as a Cowboy.

• But it was another freshman that earned honors in his GIA debut.

• OSU honored two all-time Cowboys on Saturday with the unveiling of T. Boone Pickens’ statue and with OSU’s hoops squad debuting “Eddie” patches for their home opener.

Here are some highlights:

Non-OSU Bullets

• For any fellow classic SNL fans, this made me laugh.

• Book Rec: I just started thumbing through Stuff You Should Know: An Incomplete Compendium of Mostly Interesting Things by a pair of my favorite podcasters. It’s really good and a great companion to a great pod.

• I have no idea who Jake Paul is but he apparently knocked out an NBA slam dunk champion, so there you go. (You can Google it.)
