Iowa State takes down OU

It’s so much fun to read about (I can’t help myself).

Do the Fabulous Baker Boys have to be perfect every game for the Sooners to win? The answer Saturday was yes, when the Cyclones planted a flag on Owen Field that didn’t hurt nearly as much as continually planting the pigskin in the Oklahoma end zone. [NewsOK]

Darrion Brings the Fun

Good stuff here by John Helsley on Darrion Daniels’ lighter side.

“I talk smack to everybody, because I’m friends with everybody,” Daniels said, breaking into a wide smile. “There’s just such a positive vibe. There’s no negativity at all. You might see a few pushes after the whistle every once in a while, but in the locker room it’s all love. We all swim together, we play together and we dance together.” [NewsOK]

I’ve always had an affinity for Sugar Loaf, ever since that first start at CMU two years ago. Crazy to think his career will be winding down a year from now.

OSU and NCAA News

Mark Cooper grades OSU at the (almost) halfway point … Fun Tony Allen interview here … Good stuff here on Gunnar Gundy and those Sunday pickup games … These collected wisdom pieces never disappoint — this week’s is Josh FieldsNick Saban thinks his team might stink (I think it might be the only team that doesn’t) … Why OSU should be rooting against Stanford … Pretty heavy statement here from the Arizona president behind Sean Miller … The Mike Leach coaching tree is fascinating …. Oklahoma State soccer got shut out on Friday night.

Just gonna post these forever.

Also, new Big 12 standings here.
