Only one game separates us from two weeks of thinking about playing Bedlam for the Big 12 title. One game.

OSU is building a Remember the Four memorial

This is pretty awesome.

“This memorial will be a lasting tribute to four wonderful individuals who touched the lives of so many. OSU will always ‘Remember the 4’ and extends its support and thoughts to the families and friends of Kurt Budke, Miranda Serna and Olin and Paula Branstetter,” OSU President Burna Hargis said. Here’s a look at it.

Vincent Taylor in HS

Can you imagine No. 96 roughhousing with high school children on a football field? Oh my.

Steele vs. Madison was billed as Malcolm Brown vs. Aaron Green, but Steele safety Jordan Sterns couldn’t help but notice one Madison defensive tackle. Vincent Taylor, just a sophomore, clogged running lanes and disrupted screen passes all game long. He seemingly never stopped celebrating big plays. “He looked like he was just having the time of his life,” Sterns said. “You could just tell that he loves the game.” [NewsOK]

I love hearing backstories of how guys got to Stillwater, and Taylor seems to have an abundance of them.

Going undefeated in your conference

Berry Tramel compiled a list of teams that have gone unscathed in conference play over the last 20 years. The Big 12 is insanely difficult.

In the last 20 years, the Big 12 and the Pac-12 have been the toughest Power-5 Conferences in which to go through unbeaten in league play. Only five times in each conference has a team gone unbeaten, either 8-0 plus a conference title game or 9-0. And now that the Pac-12 and Big Ten both are playing nine-game league schedules plus a title game, soon to be joined by the Big 12, we’re still waiting on a 10-0 season. [NewsOK]

And now OU might do it and get shut out of the playoff. Good job, good effort, committee.

Rudolph on Miley

Mason Rudolph was asked about the possibility of the CMU loss keeping Oklahoma State out of the CFB Playoffs.

“It sucks,” quarterback Mason Rudolph said. “That’s life, though. Everyone makes mistakes, just like I think it was Miley Cyrus said, or Taylor Swift. You gotta move on.” [O’Colly]

Glenn Spencer quotes Plato. Mason Rudolph quotes Miley Cyrus.

Thunder and Lightning

On how Chris Carson and Justice Hill have made OSU’s run game great again.

“The combination of what they’re bringing to the table,” Gundy said, “has really helped our team this last month.” Carson wishes it would’ve clicked sooner for him. But for the Pokes, he’s begun clicking just in time. [ESPN]

I’d love to see Carson leave with a Big 12 title in hand after the crazy long, weird road he traversed to get to Stillwater and start thriving.

Houston to the Big 12

Tom Herman was confident Houston would end up in the Big 12

“Did I think so? Yeah, I did, to be quite honest with you. I didn’t concern myself at all with things that I can’t control, but when you sit back and you’ve got a spare few seconds you think about the opportunities for the Big 12. We’re the best candidate for conference expansion in the entire country. I really thought that if the Big 12 did expand, then we were a no-brainer.” [Yahoo]

I guess I see where he’s coming from, but that seems a bit presumptuous.
