Big thanks to Kyle Boone and Co. for running the show while was covering the Ryder Cup all weekend. Huge win for the Pokes. I see Justice has been freed.

Football News

Ten thoughts on the game by Kyle B. Great stuff. [PFB]

Mike Gundy: “If we can run the ball for four yards a snap then it gives us a chance to be a balanced offense and we can be a decent team.” [NewsOK]

This one-handed snag on the sidelines by Kasey Dunn was incredible. [PFB]

It’s likely Jarwin, and the Cowboy backs as a whole, will become a bigger receiving threat starting this week against Iowa State. Season-ending surgery to freshman Dillon Stoner strips OSU of some depth in the slot. James Washington’s health status also remains in question following a hit that left him temporarily unconscious against the Longhorns. [NewsOK]

Glenn Spencer in the press box for games might be a permanent move. [PFB]

The Cowboys still have to be kicking themselves for giving away the game at Baylor, but OSU at least should be in the title hunt (3-1) when West Virginia comes to Stillwater on Oct. 29. [NewsOK]

Gundy on Justice: “They already know they made a mistake. You’ve got to tell them why it happened. We told (Hill). We showed him. He understood that. He practiced his butt off (and) never said a word.” [Tulsa World]

Gundy finally responds to Pickens. [PFB]

Monitoring OSU’s health will be as important as any storyline entering Saturday. The Cowboys left Boone Pickens Stadium with some bruises after a physical bout with Texas. Washington and Burton missed major chunks of the game. Safety Jordan Sterns was on and off the field. Defensive end Jarrell Owens played sparingly. Center Brad Lundblade limped off the field after one play. [Tulsa World]

These photos from the game on Saturday are awesome. [okstate]

Around the country

I didn’t see much college football this weekend, but of all the things I saw this one was by far the greatest. [Yahoo]

ESPN has OSU in the Russell Athletic Bowl. Yikes. [ESPN]

I see things are also going well for Charlie Strong. Tom Herman’s agent is just bathing in $100 bills these days. [LGG]

Recruiting News

Wowza, OSU got a four-star QB recruit after the Texas game on Saturday. [PFB]

Hoops News

Brad Underwood on OSU’s first practice this fall: “I’m a kid in a candy store. I’m the luckiest guy in the world; I get to do this. … I woke up at 4:30 this morning, said, ‘Man, I can maybe get 30 minutes,’ and I just jumped right out of bed. It’s exciting. I love practice. I thrive in practices. It’s my favorite thing about what I get to do everyday, and day one is always special.” [O’Colly]

Ryder Cup News

Patrick Reed, American hero. [CBS]

We taped a podcast last night that lasted well past midnight. What a week. [NLU]

This is my favorite moment I have ever seen live at a sporting event.
