Some good work here by Thomas Fleming on how OSU flourished in its base offense on Saturday. [PFB]

Ramon Richards on CMU: “All those guys were big dudes. They weren’t the fastest, but they were really physical. Their linemen were huge. Their receivers were physical. Their quarterback was big, physical and had a strong arm. They were a really good offense.” [NewsOK]

So Larry Williams started on Saturday. That’s pretty interesting. [PFB]

Why the defense could be better this year: If OSU’s depth chart is any indication, as many as 26 players seem to be in line to be some part of the defensive rotation. That’s an entire two-deep, and then some. Oklahoma State can go three-deep at defensive tackle and as many as three-deep at the star and weakside linebacker positions. [Tulsa World]

Glenn Spencer on CMU’s QB Cooper Rush: “Just right off the back, personnel-wise, the quarterback is very well-respected. We saw Cooper Rush last year and he’s steady. He’s a senior now. He’s put up a lot of yardage. He’s savvy to get free on rush and he’s got a great touch. He can throw the deep out cuts. Basically, besides the tight end, they’ve got the whole offense back, and they pretty much move the ball on everybody they play.” [Go Pokes – $]

Three things we learned in Week 1 about this team. [PFB]

Monday luncheon notes.

Recruiting News

Jelani Woods on his visit over the weekend: “The visit went really well. Everything was perfect and we were shown around by coach Mike Groce (assistant recruiting coordinator) and the freshman receiver Tyrell Alexander (out of Lancaster, Texas). I had a great time. My parents enjoyed the visit.” [Go Pokes — $]

OSU recruit LC Greenwood caught a game-winner last weekend. Awesome. [PFB]

Mike Gundy on future freshmen playing: “We were at the pool and chasing chicks all summer; we showed up in August and got in shape. Well, they’re showing up ready when they get here in June.” [O’Colly]
