Dake-Dieringer Primer: What You Need to Know Ahead of World Team Wrestle-Off

Everything you need to know on the wrestle off between Alex Dieringer and Kyle Dake



Alex Dieringer takes on World Champion Kyle Dake in a best-of-three series¬†on Saturday for the United States World Team spot at 79 KG. Here’s everything you need to know on it.

1.Dake’s injury. Dake was injured and requested a controversial delay to the wrestle-off. Here’s a timeline of that process.

2. Where is it? The match will be taking place at Round Rock High School just outside of Austin, Texas. Tickets are available here and can also be purchased at the door.

3. How you can watch: FloWrestling will be streaming the event, which starts at 1:00 p.m.

Dake, a four-time NCAA champion at Cornell who won a 2018 World medal, has won each of their matches previously, but Dieringer, a three-time NCAA title-winner, has closed the gap in each one. The most recent tilt between the two stars was a 5-5 tie that went to Dake on criteria. Here’s one of those matches.
