Devin Harper Continues Breakout Season for Karns
Earlier in the season, Oklahoma State commit Devin Harper broke out a massive 345-yard, 4 touchdown performance that put him in the spotlight across the state.
On Thursday, Harper had himself another big day for Karns, proving he can do it all for his team.
He finished the night with 265 rushing yards, 55 receiving, and another four touchdown performance to lead his team to a 63-42 victory over Powell. Pretty impressive considering Harper is expected to contribute at linebacker for the Cowboys. His versatility as both a running back and receiver will make him a valuable asset in Spencer’s defense, where he is known to turn former running backs into excellent defensive players by utilizing speed. (See: Jarrell Owens, Jordan Sterns).
In the first half, he hit paydirt three times on a 58-yard screen pass, and runs of 32 and 28 yards.
After the game, Karns head coach Tobi Kilgore was very open about the game plan this season. “Our game plan is always to get No. 15 [Devin Harper] the ball. If people haven’t figured that out yet, they’re crazy.”
