Emmanuel Ogbah can’t catch a break. Well, at least this time he didn’t catch one. The former Oklahoma State defensive end left the Cleveland Browns’ season opener with a left ankle injury on Sunday and it appears he will miss some time according to his head coach.

“He suffered an ankle injury,” said Hue Jackson on Monday. “He was able to play through it in the game, but we will see how it responds. He may miss some time, but we will work through that, too.”

Ogbah suffered the injury on the final play of the first quarter and was assisted to the sideline and the team’s medical tent. He would return in the second, but only appeared in 27 of the Browns’ 84 defensive plays during the rain-soaked 21-21 tie with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ogbah recorded one tackle.

Ogbah missed the final six games of the 2017 season with a broken right foot that required surgery. Jackson doesn’t think this injury will be as daunting.

“I do not know if it is a true high ankle sprain,” said Jackson. “It might be something like that. I do not think that it is the ankle sprain that lasts six weeks, or whatever that is. We will see exactly where it is here later on today.”
