Former Oklahoma State Defensive Tackle Samuela Tuihalamaka Commits to San Diego State
Tuihalamaka heads closer to home to join the Aztecs.
A former Oklahoma State defensive lineman has found a new home.
Samuela Tuihalamaka, a 6-foot-1, 304-pound defensive tackle, announced his commitment to San Diego State. Tuihalamaka had 23 tackles, four tackles for loss and a sack for Oklahoma State in 2022.
Tuihalamaka entered the portal on Wednesday, part of a slew of Cowboys who hopped in the portal the week after the Cowboys’ Guaranteed Rate Bowl loss to Wisconsin. Originally from Riverside, California, the move to San Diego State puts Tuihalamaka significantly closer to home.
Tuihalamaka joined Oklahoma State as a three-star prospect in the 2018 recruiting class over offers from Louisiana, Howard and Idaho State. After redshirting in 2018, Tuihalamaka was a contributor as a redshirt freshman, making 21 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and a sack. He finished his OSU career with 49 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and two sacks.
Tuihalamaka becomes the seventh player to enter the portal from Oklahoma State and announce a new home. There are still nine scholarship Cowboys in the portal that haven’t announced a new school.
