Former OSU Player Says This Defense Would Have Won His Team Two National Titles
Two of them. Back to back.
Evan Epstein played football at Oklahoma State from 2009-2013. The teams he played on went a combined 50-15. During the OSU-West Virginia game on Saturday, he noted that could have been even better.
I would of killed to have this defense in 2011 and 2012. Back to back national champs, not a single doubt in my mind.

The 2010 team gave up 1.76 points per drive. The 2011 team gave up 1.61. So it’s not like those teams were jokes. This 2015, going into West Virginia, was giving up 1.55 per drive although that’s going to drop quite a bit because they just got done holding WVU to 24 on 19 drives on Saturday.
I don’t necessarily disagree with Epstein. The games those two teams lost: Nebraska, OU and Iowa State. Hard to see this defense losing those. I’ve also found Epstein to be a fascinating follow on Twitter. He’s got some takes on the offense. As a former player, I trust what he says more than most.
It’s not all bad, either, as he noted. At least we aren’t OU and Texas!
@derekbirdsong they are just so very soft. But at least they know who to block. We are a lot better off than say OU and Texas
