Four-Star Deer Creek OT Jacob Sexton Commits to Oklahoma
This is a big week of O-line announcements.
The next six days could be big for the future of the Cowboys’ offensive line, but it didn’t start out hot.
Four-star Deer Creek standout Jacob Sexton committed to Oklahoma on Saturday. Sexton, the No. 5 player in the state of Oklahoma, had Oklahoma State in his Top 5 along with OU, Alabama, Texas and Texas A&M.
He visited Stillwater on June 16 along with some of the Cowboys’ other top linemen targets, but alas, he is a Sooner.
Another OSU offensive line target makes his decision Sunday, as five-star Kelvin Banks, who was once an OSU commit, will pick his program. Banks visited OSU alongside Sexton last month, but Texas seems to be the late favorite to land Banks’ services.
Westlake product Bray Lynch will also choose between OSU, Duke and Indiana on Friday. Lynch is a three-star prospect who also visited Stillwater on June 16.
The Cowboys have a strong 2022 class, thus far. Only one of the Pokes’ 12 commits is an offensive lineman in Lebanon Trail (TX) standout Austin Kawecki.
