Four-star receiver names OSU in top 5

Four-star receiver Laviska Shenault is a blooming junior prospect from Desoto High School, whose recruitment is likely to explode soon. He has picked up 11 offers since his first one that came in from Oklahoma State in January; and OSU’s initial belief in him is apparently paying off.

Over the weekend during a regional camp, he told SB Nation Recruiting that if he had t0 name a top five, he would include the Cowboys along with LSU and his most recent offer from Alabama. (OK, that’s only three.)

Shenault is a 6-foot-1, 200-pound standout from Desoto – where the Cowboys have had recent recruiting success at the receiver position, nabbing now sophomore Chris Lacy. They also signed two prospects in the 2016 class from Desoto in cornerback AJ Green and speedster LaDarren Brown.

If the Cowboys can continue their success in Desoto by landing Shenault, it would be a huge feat to win over SEC powerhouses Alabama and LSU. Recruiting at this stage is still early, but even with big players Alabama and LSU in the mix it’s an early sign of success to be mentioned in a top group of Shenault’s caliber of talent.
