Friday Night Highlights: Fields Runs Wild Again, Nnodim Tallies Two More Sacks

Fields ran for 200 yards and Nnodim is already up to eight sacks on the season.

It was another big weekend for Oklahoma State commits, particularly running back Rodney Fields and defensive lineman Armstrong Nnodim.

Here is a look at how each of the Cowboys’ 13 commits in the 2024 class preformed this weekend with highlights and stats provided if available.

Rodney Fields / RB / Del City (3-0) / Oklahoma

It was another outstanding weekend for Rodney Fields and the Del City Eagles as they rolled past Midwest City 53-14.

Fields ran for 200 yards and a pair of touchdowns on just 13 carries. On the year now, Fields has 460 yards and seven touchdowns on just 34 carries. That’s 13.5 yards per carry.

Del City has a week off before returning to action Sept. 22 against East Central.


Armstrong Nnodim / DL / Horn (2-1) / Texas

Armstrong Nnodim’s Horn Jaguars dropped their first game of the season this weekend, falling to Tyler 27-12.

But Nnodim still made an impact, finishing with nine tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, a pair of sacks and a forced fumble. That’s eight sacks in three games for Nnodim, and he is already up to 10.5 tackles for loss.

Horn plays Arlington on Thursday.


Luke Webb / DL / Deer Park (3-0) / Texas

Luke Webb and Deer Park beat West Brook 45-14 this weekend.

Stats weren’t posted to MaxPreps, but Webb was again a wrecking ball in the middle of the Deer’s defensive line, often running an offensive guard into the backfield.

Deer Park travels to Clear Brook on Friday.


David Kabongo / S / Byron Nelson (3-0) / Texas

David Kabongo remains unbeaten as a senior with a 31-10 win over Braswell.

MaxPreps didn’t have stats for Byron Nelson, but Kabongo’s Hudl highlights show him making a handful of tackles all over the field.

Byron Nelson hosts Fossil Ridge on Thursday.


Gunnar Wilson / LB / Melissa (3-0) / Texas

The Melissa Cardinals and Gunnar Wilson beat Royse City 39-7.

Melissa didn’t have stats listed on MaxPreps, but Wilson’s Hudl highlights show him making myriad tackles including a sack and a tackle for loss.

Melissa plays at Crandall on Friday.


Josh Ford / TE / Stillwater (0-2) / Oklahoma

Stillwater is off to an 0-2 start after a 37-34 loss to Yukon.

The Pioneers didn’t have stats on MaxPreps, but Ford was a menace run blocking and he also had a catch and some defensive highlights on Hudl.

Stillwater plays at Norman on Thursday.


Tre Griffiths / WR / Keller (3-0) / Texas

Tre Griffiths and Keller beat Odessa 30-21 to advance to 3-0 on the year.

Griffiths had a pair of catches for 42 yards. In three games, Griffiths has eight catches for 159 yards and a touchdown.

Keller hosts V.R. Eaton on Friday


Temerrick Johnson / Edge / Midlothian Heritage (3-0) / Texas

Temerrick Johnson is up to 3-0 in his senior season after a 29-21 win against La Vega.

Johnson had four tackles, including 0.5 tackle for loss. He also had a fumble recovery.

Johnson’s Jaguars travel to Burleson on Thursday.


Jonathan Agumadu / LB / McKinney (3-0) / Texas

Jonathan Agumadu and McKinney also remain unbeaten after topping Flower Mound 30-7.

Agumadu had three tackles, a fumble recovery and a blocked field goal.

McKinney plays at Little Elm on Friday.


Landyn Cleveland / S / Mansfield Legacy (1-2) / Texas

Landyn Cleveland and Mansfield Legacy got in the win column this week with a 35-30 win against Wilson.

MaxPreps didn’t have defensive stats for Legacy, and Cleveland hasn’t posted any highlights as of writing.

Legacy hosts crosstown rival Mansfield on Friday.


Caleb Hackleman / OL / Pleasant Grove (3-0) / Texas

Caleb Hackleman and Pleasant Grove beat Midland Christian 45-26.

Pleasant Grove hosts Frisco Memorial on Friday.


Chauncey Johnson / OL / Lonoke (1-2) / Arkansas

Chauncey Johnson’s Lonoke Jackrabbits fell to Forrest City 30-16.

The Jackrabbits have a week off before playing at Riverview on Sept. 22.


Willie Nelson / DB / Longview (2-1) / Texas

After a two-point loss in Week 1, Willie Nelson’s Longview Lobos have outscored their previous two opponents 76-14 after beating Tyler Legacy 28-7.

Longview hosts Lufkin on Friday.
