Gary Patterson says TCU “got their butt kicked” by OSU

After Oklahoma State’s shellacking of the Horned Frogs at their own place on Saturday, TCU head coach Gary Patterson did not hold back about his thoughts. He knew his team got his butt kicked.

“They kicked our butts,” Patterson said. “You have to be able to run the football when you get inside the 5, and you’ve got to tackle. That was as easy a game to have a definition of as I’ve had in a while. It’s been a long time in my 19 years where we got our butts kicked at home. That was one of them.”

Oklahoma State manhandled TCU from start to finish at Amon Carter Stadium, rushing for 334 yards and holding them to just 6 points — the fewest points ever scored under Gary Patterson, and their lowest output since 1998.

He didn’t stop there, either. Instead he went on the offensive about his offense.

“Shoot, maybe we’ll be changing offenses again,” he said. “You have to be able to run the football. Definitely how we practice and do things in the spring and in two-a-days, I can tell you that. Then we’ll play.

“The bottom line is we got our butt kicked. It’s a lot more gut-wrenching to get a field goal blocked and lose by two points than getting your butt kicked. It’s more helpless. You can’t do anything about it. We had three guys get run over. You’ve got to decide if you want to be a football player. It’s simple.”

Wow!
