Grading the Uniforms: All-White Rocks Against Baylor
I will be grading OSU’s uniforms each week using a criteria consisting of five categories.
Four of the five categories are on a scale of 1-5. The helmet will have its own rating; aesthetics will be a rating of the flow of the uniform as a whole; the intimidation factor will simply be how intimidating the uniform looks; the accessories will be a rating of the gloves, socks, shoes, and sleeves. Additionally, the Cowboys get a point for winning. A perfect score is 21 points for the GOAT.
Helmet (3)
This was the helmet that we all wanted to see as fans a couple of years ago. The concept was solid, but it just wasn’t quite what we thought it would be with the all white uniforms against Texas Tech last season.
Regardless, it’s a slick helmet by itself.
Aesthetics (5)
The all white looks really good with the black numbers. There are a couple of factors that the equipment staff has added which take this combo to the next level:
- White cleats
- The paisley pattern on the back of the helmet
Intimidation (5)
All white is up there with all black as far as intimidation goes. The chrome stripe, chrome facemask, and reflective lettering on the pants gives it an extra element that other schools don’t have when they wear all white.
Accessories (5)
All white everything. It’s clean. It’s icy.
Win (0)
It was winnable, but we came up short.
