Highly-Touted Offensive Lineman Cole Birmingham Commits to Oklahoma State
Not every three-star prospect is created equal, and there’s perhaps no better example of that than Oklahoma State’s latest Class of 2019 commitment, Cole Birmingham. Birmingham committed to the Cowboys on Sunday following an official visit to campus, picking the Pokes over 29 (!!) offers elsewhere, among them Baylor, UCLA, Arizona, Colorado and Ole Miss.
Birmingham is the second offensive line prospect to commit to OSU in the past week, joining St. Thomas Aquinas standout Joe Michalski who announced just days ago, and the 13th pledge of the 2019 cycle for the OSU staff. He’s the third highest-rated commitment for OSU behind Grayson Boomer and Jayden Jernigan, per 247Sports.
After a great official visit, I'm excited to announce that I have committed to continue my academic and athletic career at Oklahoma State University! #GoPokes #CowboyUp19 @CoachGundy @Coach_Henson @CowboyFB @CowboyFB_Elite @OSUAthletics pic.twitter.com/H5tbQ1C2K5

Birmingham is a 6-4.5, 294-pound talent from Katy High School who is slotted as a tackle prospect but has displayed versatility to also play on the interior as a guard. As a junior last season, he earned first-team all-district honors for his mauling ways in the trenches.
As has been a theme for OL recruiting under Josh Henson, Birmingham comes with a mean streak. He pummels defensive linemen in his way regularly and makes a point to finish off blocks through each play. That skill set should obviously translate seamlessly to OSU, and his commitment is another massive win for Henson on the recruiting trail, which is especially notable because, despite reeling in a five-man offensive line class last cycle, Henson continues to hum along on the recruiting trail at a fine pace.
