Hoops Preview: TV Info, Team States and Projected Lineups before the Cowgirls Visit Kansas
Can the Cowgirls finally string together consecutive conference wins?
The Cowgirls (14-4. 3-2) bounced back with a win over Colorado this weekend. Now they head north to try to string together consecutive conference wins for the first time this season. The hosting Jayhawks (11-6, 1-4) have struggled even more in the early goings of Big 12 play. Their only win came against 1-4 UCF.
Trending Up 📈: Stailee Heard appears to have finally gotten her offensive mojo back. She’s coming off her second-straight 20-plus point outing after reaching that benchmark just once in her first 16 games this season. She’s always contributed elsewhere on the court, but the difference in aggressiveness and assertiveness when the ball is in her hands is obvious. If the Cowgirls want to reach their full potential, Heard is the key.
Trending Down 📉: After sitting has high as No. 2 in the nation in scoring, the Cowgirls had failed to reach 70 points in three of their last four. OSU currently sits at eighth nationally, scoring 88.1 points per game. The competition is definitely on a different level in the Big 12, but a big part of that is a dip in 3-point percentage. In their two Big 12 losses (against Baylor and Houston), the Cowgirls shot just 19.2% and 18.2% from deep, respectively.
Here’s a look at the stats and starting lineups the last time out for both teams.
