Hoops Preview: TV Info, Team Stats and Projected Lineups before the Cowgirls Host BYU

The Cowgirls are back home to host Brigham Young.

Both teams are coming off a loss. BYU faced three-straight ranked opponents, going 1-2. While the Cowgirls’ loss at Colorado on Sunday broke a three-game win streak.

Trending up 📈: Achol Akot is coming off one of her best games of the season, scoring 22 points and grabbing seven boards in the loss to Colorado. She was one of the few bright spots as the Buffs locked down OSU’s perimeter.

Trending down 📉: Can Cowgirls avoid shooting slump or was it just an off day?

The Cowgirls turned in their worst shooting performance of the season in Boulder on Sunday, shotting just 35.4% from the field, 20% from 3 and 61% from the free-throw line. Worth pointing out that BYU is 26th in opponent field goal percentage and 14th in opponent 3-point percentage.

Of Note: This will be Amari Whiting’s first meeting versus her former team, but some of the faces have changed. The Cougars are in Year 1 under head coach Lee Cummard. Amari played under her mom Amber Whiting for her two seasons in Provo.
