The initial player availability report for the Cowboys’ game against Houston this weekend is out, and it reflects the tough times that OSU has been going through.

The report features the players who have recently decided to enter the transfer portal. Here it is in full:

Josh Ford (TE)
Shea Freibaum (LS)

Markell Samuel (OL)
Matrail Lopez (WR)
DeSean Brown (DE)

Houston

PROBABLE

Conner Weigman (QB)
Cayden Bowie (OL)
Traville Frederick Jr. (TE)

From the Oklahoma State side, all of that is expected.

Flores went down with an upper body injury in the team’s loss to Arizona this past weekend, and it looks like either receiver Sam Jackson V or true freshman Banks Bowen will get the start at quarterback for the Pokes this weekend.

Meanwhile, Josh Ford, Dylan Smith, Darius Thomas, DeAndre Boykins and Shea Freibaum have all announced or have reportedly indicated they are portal bound. That’s possible after OSU coach Mike Gundy was fired, opening a 30-day window for Pokes to hit the portal.

From the Houston side, Cougar quarterback Conner Weigman is listed as probable after suffering a concussion this past weekend. Houston coach Willie Fritz indicated Monday that things were trending in the direction of Weigman playing against the Pokes.

OSU and Houston kick at 11 a.m. Saturday in Boone Pickens Stadium. The game will be televised on TNT.
