The Red Raiders ran away with it Tuesday night in Lubbock.

Oklahoma State dropped its second Big 12 game of the season to Texas Tech, 90-73. The Cowboys have lost back-to-back conference contests after finishing nonconference play on a five-game winning streak before Saturday’s overtime loss to Baylor.

The Cowboys led by as many as nine in the first half Tuesday night, but it was Tech with a nine-point advantage at the half. The two exchanged 6-0 runs, with OSU leading 20-11, before the Red Raiders sprinted to a 19-2 run to take a 40-31 lead to the locker room.

OSU never could catch up with a Tech squad that had its entire starting five score double digits. Tech guard Pop Isaacs led all scorers with 24 while making four 3-pointers.

OSU had three players in double digits with Bryce Thompson (17), Javon Small (15) and John-Michael Wright (14). All of Wright’s points came in the second half, as he accounted for over half of OSU’s 26 bench points.

The Pokes will stay away from Stillwater for another road game against Iowa State at 5 p.m. Saturday. A loss would put the Cowboys back at .500 and give them their first 0-3 start in Big 12 play since losing their first eight league games in the 2019-20 season.
