Instant Recap: Oklahoma State makes a statement in win over TCU

With one game standing between the Cowboys and a potential Big 12 title rematch in Norman in two weeks, the Pokes went frog giggin’ and crushed TCU in Fort Worth to make a statement to the college football world.

The Cowboys dominated TCU nearly from the opening kick. Had an early muffed punt from OSU earlier in the game not taken place, the Cowboys could have easily pitched a shutout. They did so by riding the hot hand of their tailbacks Justice Hill and Chris Carson, who both rushed for more than 100 yards each. It’s the first time OSU has had two rushers reach the century mark since 2013.

OSU took just a 10-6 lead into half, after TCU’s failed fourth-down attempt as time expired sailed over the head of a TCU defender.

Out of the half, OSU showed no mercy. They played like a team who was 2 quarters away from playing for a Big 12 title. They came out of the half with two rushing scores in the third quarter where they found success, and held TCU to zero points in the second half. Chris Carson and Justice Hill ran with authority as the offensive line opened up holes in the second half, and they milked the clock for all it was worth in the second half to handle it the rest of the way.

With Oklahoma State now 9-2 and holding just one loss in conference play, Oklahoma State will be playing for the Big 12 title in Bedlam in two weeks.
