It Appears Some OSU Fans Threw Seat Cushions at Texas Players
This isn’t a great look.
After OSU fell to Texas on Saturday in a dramatic overtime period that ended with a sack on Spencer Sanders, it appears chaos ensued.
The O’Colly’s Ryan Novozinsky posted a video Saturday night that shows what appears to be orange seat cushions flying at Texas players in the heat of the moment directly after the game. Take a close look at the video, and those seat cushions were being thrown by fans in the stands. (Texas players picked up on it and appeared to be throwing them right back.)
Now, it’s unclear what the intentions were here — whether they were throwing them onto the field in protest, at Texas players specifically or perhaps just testing the arm as a frisbee golf exercise. But either way, this isn’t a great look.
OSU fans in the past have thrown chicken legs onto the field in similar instances, and in one 2015 instance, an on-field individual tried tripping an OU player. This doesn’t appear to be quite that egregious, but throwing seat cushions for any reason onto the field is poor form regardless of the disappointing outcome.
