Jared Rosholt got off to an incredibly good start at PFL 8. Pro Fighting League is a new tournament style MMA league where fighters fight a regular season to make and set up seeding for a playoff. They then fight the actual playoff to determine the winner. The winner of the tournament takes home $1 million.

The quarterfinals and semifinals were fought on Friday night. Jared came in as the 7-seed and had a rematch with Kelvin Tiller from the regular season and PFL 4.

Tiller won their regular season bout by submission when Rosholt went for a takedown and Tiller caught him in a guillotine. Jared avoided getting into any position close that again. In the first round, he hit an inside single to a quick takedown and grounded and pounded the rest of the round. This fight was different than most MMA fights in it was only two rounds. The second round nearly mirrored the first round as he got another quick takedown and stayed on top pounding Tiller for the rest of the fight. Jared won a clear unanimous decision.

This win moved him on to the semifinal where he fought Brazilian Philipe Lins.

Jared controlled the first round. He had a few big takedowns and stayed on top most of the round. In the second they stood and exchanged shots. Jared got clipped and went down.
