Jawun Evans Claimed Off of Waivers by Suns G-League Affiliate
The former OSU point guard gets another opportunity.
The former Oklahoma State point guard has found a new basketball home. The Los Angeles Clippers waived the 2017 second round pick prior to their season opener due largely to a surplus of backcourt players.
The Northern Arizona Suns announced on Monday that they had claimed Evans off of waivers and waived guard Tyrell Corbin.
There is some immediate opportunity for Evans if things work out with the G-League team. The Phoenix Suns have kept open their second spot for a two-way player. Evans could move back and forth between the NBA and G-League rosters as the organization sees fit.
Evans appeared in 48 games for the Clippers his rookie season and averaged 4.8 points and 2.1 assists in 16.2 minutes per game.
