Junior College Linebacker Taurean Davis Announces Oklahoma State Offer
OSU offers another JUCO prospect ahead of signing day.
It looks like the Cowboys’ new staff is trying to get a head start on talent acquisition by way of the junior college ranks.
After Garden City offensive lineman Steven Moore announced he had been offered on Sunday, Mississippi Gulf Coast linebacker Taurean Davis also announced he received an OSU offer Monday afternoon.
The 247Sports Composite ranking lists Davis as the No. 33 player in all of JUCO ball, listing him as the division’s No. 2 linebacker. Along with this offer to Oklahoma State, he’s announced offers to Arkansas, North Texas (under Morris), UTEP, Western Kentucky and others.
Listed at 6-foot-1, 230 pounds, Davis made 89 tackles in 11 games this season, including four tackles for loss and a sack. He also forced a fumble, intercepted a pass and and three pass breakups.
It was his second productive season at the junior college level, as Davis made 45 tackles and a sack as a freshman in 2024 to go with two forced fumbles and a PBU.
Davis hails from Quitman County in Mississippi. As a senior at DeSoto Central, he made a ridiculous 142 total tackles, including 16 tackles for loss and nine sacks. He also played some offense, running 40 times for 275 yards and three touchdowns.
The early signing period opens Wednesday, and it could be an interesting one for the Pokes as new coach Eric Morris makes what moves he can while still coaching the Mean Green in the American title game, which is Friday.
