It’s transfer season in college football, and the Cowboys haven’t avoided it.

Redshirt junior offensive lineman Hunter Anthony announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal on Monday in a post on social media.

Anthony has played in 10 of the Cowboys’ games this season but hasn’t started any.

Anthony joined the program as part of the Pokes’ 2018 class. He was a three-star prospect out of Tuttle High School, picking OSU over offers from Iowa State, Kansas and Central Arkansas.

After redshirting in 2018, Anthony played in nine games as a redshirt freshman during the 2019 season, including four starts. His first start came at right tackle with his other three starts that season coming at right guard. Anthony started the 2020 season at right tackle but was injured in the season-opener and didn’t return to action until the regular season finale and the bowl game.

The Cowboys are going to need to fill a pair of starting offensive line spots this offseason with Josh Sills and Danny Godlevske being redshirt seniors. Redshirt sophomores Cole Birmingham and Preston Wilson have started at OSU’s tackle spots in the late portion of the season. OSU also has massive junior college transfer Caleb Etienne waiting in the wings after redshirting this season.

OSU has a trio of offensive linemen committed in its 2022 class. The most notable is four-star junior college standout Tyrone Webber. Joining him are high school seniors Austin Kawecki and Calvin Harvey.
