Kaden Helms Includes Oklahoma State in Top 10
The Cowboys are still in the mix for a big 2022 target.
A big (operative word) Oklahoma State target (also apt) just whittled down his expansive offer sheet to a final group of schools and the Cowboys are still in the mix.
Kaden Helms, a 2022 tight end out of Bellevue West High School in Nebraska, dropped his Top 10 via Twitter on Monday. That list included the Pokes as well as Oklahoma, Florida State, LSU, Tennessee, Auburn, Iowa State, Miami, Iowa and Iowa State.
At 6-foot-5 and 222 pounds, Helms is a man among boys and his coaches have done everything in their power to get him the ball and make the most of that mismatch. But he’s got the athleticism and, more importantly, skill to be used either as an outside pass-catcher or develop into a DI tight end.
Helms has 23 offers and counting, but in-state school Nebraska, which was considered by some as an early favorite, notably did not make his list on Monday.
He’s a four-star prospect and the No. 3 player in the state of Nebraska according to 247. And Helms’ 247 Composite ranking of 0.8889 would make him the Cowboys’ third-highest ranked prospect in the class.
Oklahoma State currently has eight commits for the 2022 cycle, but adding Helms as No. 9 would push the Pokes’ 247 class ranking from 14th to ninth nationally, giving the Big 12 a threesome of Nos. 7,8,9 in Oklahoma, Texas and OSU.
