Kevin Peterson Compares Chris Carson to Adrian Peterson

It came as no surprise when last week, Mike Gundy and his staff released the first depth chart that featured junior college transfer Chris Carson at the top of the running back stable.

He has earned praise from coaches, staff, and media throughout camp, with Tulsa World’s Bill Haisten saying he ‘has an NFL look.

After the depth chart was released, even his teammates couldn’t help but gush about the junior ball carrier from Georgia.

“The person I can most compare him to is an (NFL all-pro) Adrian Peterson,” OSU cornerback Kevin Peterson told the Stillwater News Press. “I’ve never actually played against him, but I can only imagine a guy with his size, his speed and his athleticism being able to run the ball like – make cuts when he needs to, run over you, run through you, jump over you.”

So Adrian Peterson.

The guy who set the freshman rushing record at Oklahoma.

The guy who was nine yards short of breaking the single-season all time rushing yards record.

The former NFL MVP!

Extremely high praise from Peterson. In response to Peterson’s comments, Carson remained humble.

Regardless, Carson’s ceiling as a potential future NFL ball carrier is hard to overlook. Kevin Peterson, who is projected to be a potential first round draft pick next year, knows talent when he sees it. We can all make our own projections on Thursday. Football season is upon us.
