The NFC West-leading Rams are coming off of just their third loss of the season to the Minnesota Vikings. In that loss, the Rams saw Kayvon Webster (concussion) and Nickell Robey-Coleman (thigh) go down with injury. Both defensive backs’ status is up in the air for Sunday’s game against New Orleans.
“It certainly makes it difficult when you lose Nickell and you lose Kayvon,” said Rams head coach Sean McVay “but we’ve got a lot of confidence in some of those younger corners to step up and contribute.”
On of those younger corners who will get a chance is Peterson. The former Oklahoma State DB and All-Big 12 first-teamer signed with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free again in 2016. He was waived and resigned with the Bears twice but never saw any action.
Peterson signed with the Rams this past offseason and played in one game in Week 2 against the Washington Redskins. He played six snaps on defense and 16 on special teams but did not record a stat.
