Kirk Herbstreit disrespects Oklahoma State, continues reference to ‘Okie State’
While watching the ABC broadcast of Oklahoma-West Virginia on Saturday night, Oklahoma State announcer and senior associate athletic director Larry Reece heard something that has annoyed OSU fans for years, the use of the historical derogatory term “Okie” State, and responded with a plea.
@cbfowler We are begging you to stop calling us Oak St or Okie State. #weareoklahomastate please tell @KirkHerbstreit#youdontneedashortcut

Instead of taking the time to show respect Kirk Herbstreit went the opposite direction: 100 percent trollage.
Gotcha Okie State it is. Thanks https://t.co/645oKURFsC

Herbie did have this to say about the upcoming Bedlam matchup with Oklahoma.
Herbie: "That game is always so much fun. Fans in that state, I know always hope it comes down to Bedlam. This year they get their wish."

Chris Fowler had a bit more respectful response for a Division-I AD.
I hear you. I don't think I've said "Okie State" ever. Or at least not in many years. I'll just say "Pokes." Happy?

Of course, Kirk Herbstreit is an Ohio State alumnus and truther who pumps the Buckeyes no matter the circumstance. Perhaps Herbie is concerned his team may be the second best OSU team in the country.
