Following the release of Brandan Wright, the Houston Rockets have signed forward and Oklahoma State alum Le’Bryan Nash to fill the roster spot.

Nash played in 2017-18 in Korea for Sonic Boom KT, where he averaged 18.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists. Here’s the Houston Chronicle on the Rockets’ move.

“Brandan did everything positive,” Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni said. “He just wasn’t physically able to hang in there. We hate it that the guy isn’t part of this.”

Nash’s last in-game action in the U.S. came with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Houston’s G League affiliate, where he played from October 2016 to February 2017. Nash averaged 8.5 points and 3.1 rebounds per game in 27 games played with the Vipers during that time.

Nash previously played for the Fukushima Firebonds in Japan, where he served as a top scorer and broke the league record for points scored in a game with 54.

A former McDonald’s All-American, Nash came to Oklahoma State as a five-star prospect, averaged double-digits and won the conference Freshman of the Year in 2012. As a senior, Nash averaged 17.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per game and earned second-team All-Big 12 honors.
