Lenzy Pipkins Elevated from Practice Squad to Colts Roster
A former Poke could get more run in the NFL this year.
Former Oklahoma State cornerback Lenzy Pipkins was promoted the 53-man active roster by the Indianapolis Colts the team announced on Tuesday.
Pipkins was traded to the Colts from the Green Bay Packers this preseason but was cut on September 1 as teams trimmed their rosters down to the 53-man limit. Pipkins was then signed to the team’s practice squad.
As an undrafted free agent, Pipkins signed with the Packers prior to the 2017 season and played in 12 games as a rookie and started one. He ended his rookie season with 17 total tackles (three solo), a pass defended and a special teams stop.
The current depth chart projects Pipkins as the No. 3 cornerback ahead of the Colts’ Week 2 matchup in Washington against the Redskins.
