Lindy Waters Wins Big 12 Newcomer of the Week

Lindy Waters has been on a mini tear as of late. His hot shooting has been instrumental to the Cowboys’ current five-game winning streak. Over the last two games, he’s 6-7 from the field and a perfect 5-for-5 from 3.
His contributions didn’t go unnoticed. They earned him Big 12 Newcomer of the Week honors.
Congrats to @LindyWatersIII on his 1st career #Big12MBB weekly award. Freshman was 5-of-5 from 3-point in 2 huge road wins for #okstate pic.twitter.com/7lVToKC7TG

Waters is the third Cowboy to win a Big 12 weekly award this season. Jawun Evans (Dec. 5 and Jan. 30) was Big 12 Player of the Week. Brandon Averette was Newcomer of the Week on Dec. 12.
Last week, Waters was fantastic. He followed up a stellar Bedlam performance with a solid performance in Morgantown on Saturday. He took two shots, both from three and made them both. One of those put OSU up five over West Virginia — a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.
I am all in on “Trey.” Or “Ice.” Or “Lindy Chitwood”, my favorite. He has a unique skill set and a confidence you don’t always see in true freshmen. This honor should just be the first of many.
